Never Again Cartrawler!

In February, I booked A flight from Frankfurt to Lissabon on 26.03.2024 with TAP airlines.
After the booking TAP offered to book a rental car via the cartrawler portal. I paid both (flight and car + insurance) with my American Express card! Paying with Amex worked without any problems!

On the CarTrawler Website there was a note that the client must have "a valid credit card" (no further restrictions e.g. which brand!) which must be issued to the main driver.
OK, no prob as I fulfilled this term (and again... the booking with Amex was no problem!).

On the evening of 25.03.2024 (the evening before the flight!) the "Tangerine" car rental office contacted me by phone, and told me, that they noticed that our flight will arrive at 7:55 p.m. and they are open only until 8:00 p.m. which is rarther close!
They would keep the desk open for me, if we appear there later, but that will cost 50 Euros extra!

But they told me as well, that we could pick up the car as well the next day within the regular office hours to avoid this extra fee.
We can appear there until 8:00 p.m. they told us.
OK, nice offer! An Uber taxi to the hotel and back to the Tangerine office costs way less than 50 Euros, so we agreed.

When we arrived the next da at 05:50 p.m. at the Tangerine office and wanted to deposit the insurance self-involvement with my American Express Card, Tangerine denied and said that they do not accept American Express Credit cards.

What? But that restriction has not been provided on the car trawlers website!
As said above CarTrawler only writes (I have a screenshot) that a "valid Credit card" is required which has to be issued to the main driver, which I fullfiled with my Amex card!

It even became worse!

At the office of Tangerine, we called Cartrawler and complained, but their agent (a man named Achmed Ali), after he spoke several with his "manager" told us, that it was our fault, because we arrived 3 hours too late at the desk!
What the f...? How came they to this idea?

The problem was the not accepted American Express card and not a totally ridiculous created "delay"!
There was no delay at all!
The root cause of the problem, that they didn't provide this important info that Tangerine does not accept Amex cards on their cairtrawler website was totally ignored!

We discussed almost 2 hours with the car trawler "support" (ridiculous and embarrasing as there was not any support!) without success!
Tangeringe wasn't able to give us a car! :-(

So Together with my wife and my tired 9 year old daughter we were lost in a foreign city at night and CarTrawler gave a sh... on this fact!

You think that can't get worse? Please wait!

After this whole mess, we had to book several Uber trips (for at least 100 Euros!) and finally a more expensive rental car!

You think that can't get worse? Of course CarTrawler managed it to get ist worse!

When I tried to get back my paid 108 Euros (Car+Insurance) from CarTawler, they denied it, again based on this ridiculous lie that we were too late!
Bullsh... we were NOT too late!
And even if we had been there a whole year before, Tangerine would not have accepted my Amex card!

This fact is still being totally ignored by CarTrawler and they denied to give me my money (for which a received not anything!) back!

This is the more annoying and embarrasing as Tangerine didn't charge CarTrawler, because the didnd't give me a car!

So CarTrawler still keeps my money of 108 Euros for nothing!
Did somebody say cheaters?

I have all the documents and screenshots, as well as a confirmation of Tangerine that the non-acceptance of the amex card was the problem, not a ridiculous "delay" here, and sent it to CarTrawler.
But as I said, they ignored this hardfacts!

So I created a ticket at American Express and contacted my lawyer.
An info to TAP airlines is yet to come.
I really can't follow why companies as American Express and TAP are working together with such a unreliable company like WebTrawler! Never Again Webtrawler!

Sorry that I am not able to give negative amount of stars as 1 star is way too much for this company!
